Wild Colour Botanical Ink Making

Wild Studio are coming to Toi Tauranga Art Gallery for the first time on Sat 21 Nov 2026, 10am–1pm!

Join tutor Emma Cowan for this hands-on workshop, where you'll discover the diverse possibilities for making your own inks from plants. You'll be guided through the process of creating your own botanical inks suitable for writing, drawing and painting — similar to watercolour.

This class is designed for adults, however teens 12+ are very welcome. Suitable for all levels of experience, with no prior art experience necessary. All materials provided, and you'll even get to take home the sample inks you make.

This workshop is a celebration of current exhibition I Will Meet You in the Garden by Jess Dare, and the Bay of Plenty Garden and Arts Festival (Thu 19–Sun 22 Nov).
